Amy Acklyn
Growing up in the small rural town of Elkhorn,Wisconsin, Amy's heart yearned to sing and play country music. At the age of 8, Amy taught herself to play the drums and later picked up the guitar. Singing in her High School choir, her talent developed and she soon realized that she longed to be in the spot light. So at the age of 19, she packed up her belongings and moved to Nashville, TN. Amy quickly learned that to get noticed in Nashville she would have to be more than just a singer, so she sat with a pen and a piece of paper and began writing songs. Soon she was sitting in at Tootsies Orchid lounge on her days off from work. Word soon traveled and Amy got asked to play rhythm guitar for Zach Robbins and Rolling Thunder, a local bar band. Amy got to show off her talents at shows playing the guitar, drums and singing. Her energy on stage poured into the crowd; they loved every minute of it. Next, Amy went to Sound Control Studio and recorded her first EP with Mark Moseley. It consisted of a composition of songs she wrote, a remake of traditional songs she loved, and some originals pitched to the studio. Not doing anything half-hearted, Amy cut 12 tracks with some of Nashville's best studio musicians and back up vocalists. Amy wants to be known for her traditional country style with her high energy stage performance. After seeing Amy play a live show you will see what makes her unique and well deserving of everything good Nashville has to offer!
